n. Land of the Irish, Ireland :-- Gewitan him ðá Norþmenn Dyflen sécean eft Íraland [Yraland, hira land], Chr. 937 ; Th. 206, col. 2, 1. 15; Æðelst. 56. In Ors. 1, 1 ; Swt. 19, 15, 16 Íraland is doubtful. In the Anglo-Saxon, version of Bede's History Hibernia generally is rendered by Hibernia Scotta eáland.
