One who continually goes with another, a constant companion :--Nis hit nó ðæt án ðæt swá eáðe mæg wiðerweard gesceaft wesan ætgædere symbelgeféran, ac hit is sellícre ðæt hiora ǽnigne mæg bútan óðrum bión it is not only that it is so easy for opposites to be able to be constant companions, but it is more extraordinary that no one can exist without another, Met. 11, 50.
