m. [biten; pp. of bítan to bite]. I. a BIT, morsel, piece, fragment; frustum, buccella :-- Ne mihte hyra ǽlc ánne bitan of ðám gelæccan every one of them could not get a morsel, Homl. Th. i. 182, 10.
