Archhood, an archbishop's pall, his dignity, of which the pall was a sign; pallium :-- Ðæt his æftergengan symle ðone pallium and ðone ercehád æt ðam apostolícan setle Rómániscre gelaðunge feccan sceoldon that his successors should always fetch the pall and the archiepiscopal dignity from the apostolic seat of the Roman church, Homl.
