According to the Old English Dictionary:

hwem-dragen
adj. Sloping, not perpendicular :-- Wæs ðæt ilce hús hwemdragen nalas æfter gewunan mennisces weorces ðæt ða wagas wǽron rihte ac git swíðor on scræfes onlícnesse ðæt wæs æteówed that same house had sloping walls, not at all after the custom of men's work so that the walls should be perpendicular, but it appeared much more like a cave, Blickl. Homl. 207, 17.
