According to the Old English Dictionary:

mis-grétan

to affront, insult :-- Se gylda ðe óðerne misgrét ... gebéte hé ðæt wið ðone man ðe hé mysgrétte, Chart. Th. 606, 22-27. Gif hwilc gegilda óðerne misgréte, 612, 18. Cf. mis-beódan. mis-gretan
