According to the Old English Dictionary:

on-scógan

to unshoe, take off a shoe :-- Onscó mé discalcea me, Gr. D. 221, 22. His mǽgas hine anscógen óðre fét, ðæt mon mæge siððan hátan his tún ðæs anscódan tún unum ei pedem propinquus discalciet, ejusque habitaculum domum, discalceati vocet, Past. 43, 16. [O. H.
