Add: Not flourishing, like a tree without leaves. In Dan. 585 the ríce is compared with the stump of the tree which for seven years shewed no signs of life, and the statement swá þín ríce bið anwlóh expresses the same as swá þín blœd líð in 563. Cf. ge-wló, an epithet which describes a land of rich growth. an-wloh
