A cily-inclosure, city-barrier or defence, as -- a wall, mound or moat; urbis septum, arcis claustrum vel clausura :-- He gelǽdde brýd mid bearnum under burhlocan, in Sǽgor he led his wife with the children within the city-inclosure, into Zoar, Cd. 118; Th. 153, 12; Gen. 2537: Andr.
