pl. cinnaþ; p. ic, he can, ðú cunne, pl. cunnon; pp. cunnen To generate, procreate; generare, procreare :-- Sorgum cinniþ brings forth with sorrows, Exon. 94b; Th. 354, 28; Reim. 52. From this verb, the p. ic, he can are taken as a present tense. Hence it is called one of the twelve præterito-præsentia, enumerated under ágan. For cúðe the weak p. of cunnan, inf. cunnan.
