f: dýp, es; n. Depth, the deep, sea; profundum, altĭtūdo, altum :-- Híg næfdon ðære eorþan dýpan non habēbant altitūdĭnem terræ, Mt. Bos. 13, 5. Ascúfaþ hine út on middan ðære dýpan thrust him out into the middle of the deep, Homl. Th. i. 564, 8. Teóh hit on dýpan duc in altum, Lk. Bos. 5, 4.
