f. A canker-worm, caterpillar, weevel; ērūca, brūchus = GREEK :-- He sealde emele oððe treówyrme wæstm heora dĕdit ērūcæ fructus eōrum, Ps. Spl. C. 77, 51. He sǽde and com gærshoppe and emel ðæs næs ná gerím dixit et vēnit lŏcusta, et brūchus cūjus non ĕrat nŭmĕrus, 104, 32.
