p. ic, he -gnád, ðú -gnide, pl. -gnidon; pp. -gniden [for-, gnídan to rub] To rub together, dash or throw down, break; contĕrĕre, allīdĕre, elīdĕre :-- He forgnád oððe he tobrytte treów gemǽru heora contrīvit lignum fīnium eōrum, Ps.
