A binding, fastening; ligātūra, strictūra :-- Ofer waðema gebind [or waðema-gebind, cf. ýþ-gebland] over the watery band, i. e. the surface of the water, Exon. 76 b; Th. 288, 1; Wand. 24: 77 a; Th. 289, 32; Wand. 57. Gebynd strictura, Ælfc. Gl. 11; Wrt. Voc. 19, 50. [Cf. Goth. ga-binda, -bindi a band.]
