p. -náp, pl. -nipon; pp. -nipen. I. to darken, become dark; cālīgāre, obnūbĭlāri :-- Hú seó þrag gewát, genáp under niht-heltn, swá heó nó wǽre how the time has passed, has darkened under the veil of night, as if it had not been, Exon. 77 b; Th. 292, 8; Wand. 96.
