D. gaup to gape, devour] :-- Þā de hēr swīdost galpettad and on unrihttīdum on oferfyllo biód forgriwene, þā biód þǣr on mǣstum hungre forþrycced those that here eat most greedily and are steeped in unseasonable excess, they will there be oppressed with grievous hunger, Nap. 27.
