m. The guardian of a rule, (1) an authority in the matter of the observance of a rule (none aprilis, hé sceal mid his ealdorscipe ealle ða óðre gerihtan and gereccan, ðæs ðe ða regolweardas (those who state with authority what the rule or rules on the point may be) ús héton secgan, Anglia viii. 329, 8.
