m. A decoction, the water in which anything has been seethed or boiled:--Ðysse sylfan wyrte syde ðære tóþa sár gelídigaþ, gyf hyne man swá wearmne on ðam múþe gehealdeþ, Lchdm. i. 280, 3. [M. H. Ger. sut: Ger. sud seething; ab-sud a decoction: cf. Icel. soð the broth or water in which meat has been sodden.]
