adv. I. with cleanliness, without impurity:--Ðæt gé witen ðæt hit (the preparation of the wafers for the mass) clǽnlíce and sýferlíce gedón sý, L. E. I. 5; Th. ii. 404, 36. II. soberly, purely, without excess or grossness:--Sidefulle on ðeáwum and sýferlíce lybbende, Homl. Ass. 37, 327.
