(only in) pp. be-griwen To steep in, (l) of profound knowledge:--Hé wæs on ðǽre ealdan ǽ getogen, and mid micelre gecnyrdnysse on ðǽre begriwen wæs (was deeply versed in it), Hml. Th. i. 384, 27.
