p. -cól. Substitute: To die of cold :-- Wið ðon ðe men ácale ðæt fel of ðám fótum in case the skin die off a man's feet with cold, Lch. ii. 6, 24. [Hungry and akale. Piers P. 18, 392.] a-calan
