p. -cwæþ, pl. -cwǽdon; pp. -cweden To say, tell, answer; dicere, eloqui, respondere :-- Ðæt word acwyþ that word says, Beo. Th. 4099; B. 2046. Word acwæþ, wuldres aldor he spake the word, the chief of glory, Cd. 30; Th. 40, 14; Gen. 639. Ðæt me acweden syndon quæ dicta sunt mihi, Ps. Th. 121,1.
