p. te To make to halt, to cripple a person's movement :-- Þá on hyge þóhtan þæt hí áhyltan mé and mínne gang qui cogitaverunt supplantare gressus meos, Ps. Th. 139, 5. [Cf. O. H. Ger. ar-helzit, arlemit debilitatum.] a-hiltan
