- Add: To wash an animal by sending it into the water :-- þeáh swín beswemde weorðen, þonne sleáð hí eft on ðá solu and bewealwiað hí þǽron (sus lota reversa in volutabro luti). [Cf. Ger. schwemmen.] be-swemman
