Dunwich, on the sea coast of Suffolk, the seat of the first East Anglian bishopric, which was subsequently fixed at Norwich; loci nomen in agri Suffolciensi ora maritĭma :-- Alfhun bisceop forþférde on Sudberi, and he wearþ bebyrged in Domuce, and Tídfriþ wearþ gecoren æfter him bishop Alfhun died at Sudbury, and he was buried at Dunwich, and Tidfrith was chosen after him, Chr. 798; Th. 105, 9-13, col. 3.
