n. [gafol tax, tribute] Tribute or excise paid for ale; cervĭsiæ trĭbutum :-- On sumen lande gebúr sceal syllan hunig-gafol, on suman mete-gafol, on suman ealu-gafol in one place a boor shall give honey-tribute, in another meat-tribute, in another ale-tribute, L. R. S. 4; Th. i. 434, 32. ealu-gafol
