Anglen in Denmark, the country from which the Angles came into Britain; Angŭlus, terra quam Angli ante transĭtum in Britanniam cŏluērunt :-- Of Engle cóman Eást-Engle, and Middel-Engle, and Myrce, and eall Norþhembra cynn from Anglen came the East-Angles, and Middle-Angles, and Mercians, and all the race of the Northumbrians, Bd. 1, 15 ; S. 483, 24.
