p. de To drive, compel to do or undergo :-- Be ðon ðe mon tó ceápe fordrǽfe. Ðonne mon bið tyhtlan betygen and hine mon bedrífeð tó ceápe, Ll. Th. i. 140, 15. for-dræfan
