- p. -scytte, pl. -scytton; pp. -scytted To shoot before, prevent; prævĕnīre :-- Hí heófodon folces synna, and heora wrace on him sylfum fórscytton they bewailed the people's sins, and prevented their punishment on themselves, Homl.
