p. -swór, pl. -swóron; pp. -sworen To FORSWEAR, to swear falsely, perjure; ejūrāre, pējĕrāre :-- He sigewǽpnum forsworen hæfde he had forsworn martial weapons, Beo. Th. 1613; B. 804. Ic forswerige pējĕro, Ælfc. Gl. 84; Som. 73, 98; Wrt. Voc. 49, 6. Ne forswere ðú non perjūrābis, Mt. Bos. 5, 33. Gyf gehádod man forswerige oððe forlicge, gebéte ðæt be ðæm ðe seó dǽd sý if a man in orders swear falsely or fornicate, let him make amends for it according as the deed may be, L. E.
