- p. -þrycte; pp. -þrycced, -þryct To tread under, oppress greatly, suppress, overwhelm; opprĭmĕre, supprĭmĕre :-- Ðære wambe fléwsan he forþryceþ it suppresses the flux of the stomach. Med. ex Quadr. 6, 9; Lchdm. i. 352, 17. Næs ǽnig ðara ðæt mec þreám forþrycte there was not any of them that overwhelmed me with reproofs, Exon. 73 a; Th. 273, 22; Jul. 520.
