p. ode, ede; pp. od, ed [þrysmian to suffocate] To suffocate, choke, strangle; suffōcāre :-- Eornfullness ðisse worulde, and leásung ðissa woruldwélena forþiysmiaþ ðæt wurd solĭcĭtūdo sæcŭli istīus, et fallācia dīvĭtiărum suffōcat verbum, Mt.
