Take here ge-cearfan in Dict., and add: (1) to cut off, cut down :-- Tré gecorfen bið l [man] gecearfas arbor exciditur, Mt. L. 7, 19. Ðió eárliprece ðone Petrus gecurfe (absciderat), Lk. p. 11, 6.
