ge-cwéman
p. de; pp. ed [cwéman to please] To please, satisfy, propitiate; plăcēre, satisfăcĕre :-- He ne mihte ðám folcum mid gifum gecwéman he had not power to satisfy the people with rewards, Ors. 3, 7; Bos. 60, 45. Pilatus wolde ðam folce gecwémam Pilātus vŏlens pŏpŭlo satisfăcĕre, Mk. Bos. 15, 15. Gif ðú godum ussum gecwémest if thou wilt propitiate our gods, Exon. 68 a; Th. 252, 27; Jul. 169.
