p. ode, ade, ede; pp. od, ad, ed To fetter, bind; compĕdīre, vincīre :-- Ðone he gefetrade fýrnum teágum whom he fettered with fiery shackles, Exon. 96 a; Th. 359, 9; Pa. 60. Drihten ða gefetredan alýseþ Dŏmĭnus solvit compĕdītos, Ps. Th. 145, 7.
