According to the Old English Dictionary:

ge-hīwlǣcan
p. -lǣhte. I. to form, fashion, shape :-- And eác manna wynsumlic wlita æfter his āgenan anlīcnessan gehȳwlǣhte, Nap. 30. II. to colour. Cf. ge-hīwian ; VI. 2 :-- Heó āgyfd ꝥ gecynde-lice hīw, and hē byd gehȳwlǣht swylce hē of swīde hāton bæþe eóde. Lch, i. 262, 14. ge-hiwlæcan
