p. ode; pp. od. I. to resolve, determine, (1) with infin. :-- Þu-long; gehogodest sæcce sēcean ofer sealt wæter, B. 1988. (2) with clause :-- Hæfde hē gehogod, þæt hē gedǣde, swā hine Drihten hēt, Gen. 2892. (3) with pronoun and clause in apposition :-- Þā ic ǣrest hyt gehogede, þæt ic hine tō swīþe ne lufige, Solil. H. 35, 14. Hē þæt on his mōde gehogode (-hogod, ) and geteód hæfde (decreuerat), þæt he wolde his þeóde fordōn, Bd. 3, 24; Sch. 307, 6. Gē þæt gehogodon, þæt gē on fāra folc feorh gelǣddon, An. 429.
