ge-nípan
For 'II. to rise as a cloud . . . Exod. 454' substitute:--Him ongén genáp atol ýða gewealc: ne þǽr ǽnig becwóm herges tó háme the horrid waves grew dark as they rolled on to meet them; not one of that host got back to his home, Exod. 454. Werð genipen stetiti. inhorruit (nimbosisque polus stetit imbribus), An. Ox. 34, 2. Add: II. to make dark(?):--Þǽr niht ne genípð (genimð? V d) nǽfre þeóstra þæs heofenlican leóhtes scíman, Dóm. L. 253. ge-nipan
