According to the Old English Dictionary:

ge-síþ
Add: [The word seems to be a ja- stem, like the O. Sax. gi-síði, but to be treated as if the root-syllable were short. Cf. ge-siþþas in the preceding word.] A body of followers, retinue :-- Hé earfoða dreág, hæfde him tó gesíððe sorge and longað, wintercealde wræce, Deór. 3. ge-siþ
