-þweór- ? according to the metre the syllable is long) :-- Þeáh ánra hwilc sié gebunden gesiblíce tógædre, ꝥte heora ǽnig óðres ne dorste mearce ofergangan, ac geþweorod sint ðegnas tógædre, cele wið hǽto, hǽt wið drýgum; winnað hwæðre tu numeris elementa ligas, ut frigora flammis, arida conveniant liquidis (for the prose rendering of this see ge-þrowian; III a), Met. 20, 72.
