ge-wýscan
p. te; pp. ed. I. to wish, desire; optare, desiderare :-- Ic wolde gewýscan ðæt hí næfdon ða heardsǽlþa ðæt hí mihton yfel dón I would wish that they had not the unhappiness of being able to do evil, Bt. 38, 2; Fox 198, 3.
