- adj. Steep; fig. arduous(cf. uphill) :-- Þis is mid sumum mannum swȳþe geándȳne þing and earfodlic þing hoc apud nonnullos res ardua est et difficilis, Ll. Th. ii. 134, 6. Cf. dūn, æf-dȳne. gean-dyne
