war; a word occurring only in compounds. The word is found in proper names in Icelandic, e.g. Höð the name of a Valkyria, Höðbroddr, Höðr the slayer of Baldr; and in O. H. Ger. e.g. Hadu-praht, and their compounds. heaðu
