heáfod-land
Take here hafud-land in Dict., and add: [IV.] :-- Of ðǽre stréte on ðá díc ðe scýt tó ðám heáfodlande; ðonne on westhealfe ðæs heáfodlandes, C. D. v. 275, 17-19. Tó þám heáfodlonde, iii. 384, 32. Of þǽm wege á be þǽm heáfodlande; ꝥ eft in ꝥ óþer heáfodlond áne hwíle; þænne in þá furh; ꝥ andlong fyrh anbútan ꝥ heáfodlond . . . of þǽm heáfodlonde eft on þone weg, Cht. E. 208, 25-29: 35.
