; adj. Hale, sound, whole, safe :-- Sýne hǽle pupillam incolumem, Hpt. Gl. 487, 69. Þá woldan hié on ecnesse hǽle and trume wið deófla níþum and helle wíturn, and deáþ geþrowodan for Godes naman, Bl. H. 171, 30.
