- Add: I. to bend from an upright position :-- Hnāg ic (the cross) þām secgum tō handa, Kr. 59. Āsitte hē þonne ūplang, hnīge þonne ford, Lch. iii. 2, 12. I a. to bend in reverence, make obeisance :-- Heó hnāh ādūne tō Sebastianes fōtum, Hml. S. 5, 92. Tō dām ædelan hnigan him sanctas, Sat. 240. Hī feóllan on foldan, and tō fōtum hnigon, 533.
