l. hȳþ, hȳþþ(u) :-- Lyte jactura, hȳd commodum, Wrt. Voc. i. 74, 52. Swā hwæt on hȳdþe and on temprunge byd hālwende hit ys quicquid cum modo (but commodo has been read) et temperamento fit, salutare est, Scint. 54, 19. Tō þām ꝥ hē him gedyde sume getǣse hȳdde his geswinces ei laboris sui commodum dedit, Gr. D. 39, 27.
