lagian

p. ode To make a law, ordain :-- Lagiaþ góde woruldlagan and lecgaþ ðærtóeácan ðæt úre cristendóm stande ordain good secular laws, and add thereto the establishment of our christianity. Wulfst. 274, 7. [Kath. lahede ordained.]
