m. A leech, doctor, physician :-- Se lǽca ðe sceal sáre wunda wel, gehǽlan hé mót habban góde sealfe ðǽrtó the doctor who has to make a good cure of painful wounds, must have good salve for the purpose, L. Pen. 4; Th. ii. 278, 15: 5; Th. ii. 278, 20.
