ofer-findan
to put to the proof, make trial of :-- For ðon nǽre se breóst nánra þinga oferfunden, gif hine seó árfæstnes ðæs árwyrðan weres ne oferswýðde virtutis enim pectus non esset, si hoc pietas non vicisset, Gr. D. 18, 19. Hé þóhte, siþþan ꝥ folc oferfunden wǽre, ꝥ hié siþþan wolde eall þæt hé wolde, Ors. 6, 37 ; S. 296, 6.
